The battery powered E-type Jaguar driven by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to their wedding reception was designed by Croatian entrepreneur, Mate Rimac.
Rimac is only 30 years old, but has already broken five land speed world records for electric vehicles and raised €50 million in funding for his company, which now employs 400 people.
It has also emerged that Rolls Royce filed a patent in October for a design it believes will lead to aeroplanes being powered by electricity.
As Warren East, the Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce, says “Electrification is here and now… we don’t want to be left behind”.
We don’t know what the journey has in store, but it would appear that the destination for the automotive industry, is going to be electric vehicles.
